Want to learn how to set up a grid and how to use it?

Watch below for some EGEE tutorial videos, produced by the Direct User Support (DUS) group, coordinated by Christos Filippidis.

Here you can learn about grid credentials, job submission, data management, and tools such as gLite...

Please note, these videos are very technical and detailed. While providing information on one way to interface with the grid infrastructure this is not the only way of using the grid. The EGI team will work with users to find a suitable interface for that community. Please contact community-support@egi.eu for more information.

1. Introduction to the EGEE Grid and a few basic tools 7. MPI Job submission
2. Using Grid Credentials 8. The gfal API
3. Grid Job submission 9. Job Perusal mechanism
4. Grid Data Management 10. The Hydra encryption solution
5. Job submission with data management 11. The AMGA Service
6. Advanced Job Types in gLite 12. Using the gLite API

1. Introduction to the EGEE Grid and a few basic tools

Screencast of the registration procedure with EGEE and a short introduction to a few basic ssh utilities such as putty and winscp.

2. Using Grid Credentials

Screencast of the management of Grid related credentials and the usage of the VOMS and MyProxy services

3. Grid Job submission

Screencast on glite-wms-* command line tools. Normal Grid Job submission is discussed and covered.

4. Grid Data Management

Screencast on basic concepts of Data management on the EGEE Grid using command line utilities.

5. Job submission with data management

Screencast on gLite job submission with data management commands for downloading input data and uploading output data directly to Grid Storage Elements.

6. Advanced Job Types in gLite

Screencast on job collections, parametric jobs and DAG jobs.

7. MPI Job submission

Screencast on basic concepts of MPI and the MPI-START mechanism.

8. The gfal API

Screencast on the gfal API with examples for creating, editing and reading content from a Grid file.

9. Job Perusal Mechanism

9th EGEE screencast on Grid computing describing the usage of the job perusal mechanism. Contents of job output files may be retrieved dynamically onto the User Interface using this mechanism.

10. The Hydra encryption solution

This is the 10th EGEE screencast on Grid Computing brought to you by the Direct User Support Team. During this screencast we will discuss the hydra service, which is an encryption and decryption solution for the Grid users. The hydra service may be used to encrypt and decrypt files residing on both the User Interface and the Storage Elements.

11. The AMGA Service

Screencast on the usage and configuration of the AMGA Metadata client.

12. Using the gLite API

This is the 12th EGEE screencast on Grid Computing brought to you by the Direct User Support Team. During this screencast we will discuss the gLite API, which provides the freedom for the developers and the users to customise and develop new tools, in order for them to fulfill their needs.
